A downloadable game

ChainMoor is an homage to Dave Arneson’s early experiment of a Medieval Braunstein featuring mythical creatures, and the Medieval Miniature Wargame created by Gary Gygax and Jeff Perren.

ChainMoor, while fully playable, is not a game. It is a framework that attempts to apply a Gygaxian Wargame-style combat system to Dave Arneson's (first) "TTRPG" experiment.

If you are reading this document I assume you know what a TTRPG is and its terminology (such as 1d6, etc.).

To learn more about Gygax's Wargame I suggest you visit: https://clericswearringmail.blogspot.com/

I also made a little "retroclone" called Ringmail (which, however, instead of cloning the game 100%, also applies the first ideas of the most famous role-playing game in the world): https://michele-pavani.itch.io/ringmail

To learn more about Arneson's first experiment here you can find Brownmoor, a clone of mine that tries to be as faithful as possible (in the project description you will discover that the game is based on another studio project of mine called Brownstone Redux, where you can find all the sources I based it on): https://michele-pavani.itch.io/brownmoor
